My name is Jorke Willemse and I’m a photographer and a student. At the moment I live in Enschede, the Netherlands, where I study Biomedical engineering at the University of Twente. Besides photography, I have a huge fascination for travel and sports.
A major part of my portfolio consists of pictures taken at (major) transportation hubs. I find airports and train stations interesting places. Partly because I’m interested in machines (like airplanes and trains) and infrastructure, but also because of the atmosphere inside those transportation hubs.
Other parts of my portfolio consists out of simple product shots and street photography. When I’m out on the streets I try to observe and capture the simple things. The goal is to show uninteresting things in an interesting way.
Besides the street- and product photography, I also shoot an occasional portrait.
I started shooting film in July 2011. That month I bought my first roll of film and shot it with a F801s camera. What started as an small and fun experiment, ended up in a serious addiction for film. Film isn’t perfect (there’s a reason we all changed to digital photography). Film is challenging and unforgiving. You have 36 exposures (at max) and mistakes can’t be undone. It’s always exciting when you pick up your freshly developed negatives from the lab. The moment you (finally) get to see the results is awesome!
The goal is to combine digital and film photography in order to create a wide variety of photos.
Here’s the list of cameras and lenses:

Because shooting film isn’t cheap (especially the developing and printing part). I scan the negatives myself. I own a Epson V500 perfection photo scanner.
I’m also fully equipped to develop my own black and white film.
I also own 2 Canon speedlite 580exII flashes, a few old Nikon Speedlight SB flashes and some strobist accesoires. I’m fully equipped to shoot in dark(er) environments.
