Madrid

Barcelona wasn’t the only city that was visited that week. We also visited Madrid. This is city is awesome too. But it’s hard to compare both cities. Especially since we spent such a short time in every city ( one and a half day in Barcelona and one and a half day in Madrid).

Of course pictures had to be taken.

Kodak ektar 100

This film isn’t perfect. I find it very hard to keep he colors in control. But when you get it all right, you will get some awesome results.

I simply love this film.

Madrid has train stations too. I think that Estación de Madrid Atocha is one of the most beautiful stations I’ve ever seen. It has different parts and every part is different. One part in particular does not feel like a train station at all. But maybe that’s because of the huge tropical garden.

Kodak portra 400

The majority of this film was shot in Barcelona. The last 4 shots were taken in Estación de Madrid Atocha.

I did not take much digital photos on the streets of Madrid. I had the camera hanging around my neck for a few hours, but didn’t feel like photographing. You can’t photograph always and everything..

I processed the photos while I was enroute to Leeuwarden. I tried out a few new things and I’m not sure if I’m 100% happy with the outcome..

  1. oh madrid and barcelona are gorgeous! i live in lisbon and have traveled there and i think that these cities have something in common, their light, though i must say that i feel that lisbon has a magical light! but now that i’m in amsterdam i miss that light so much. this might be a gorgeous city, but i do miss lighter days. beautiful street photos by the way!!

    • Thanks for the kind comments! I haven’t been to Lisbon yet, but I did love the light in Madrid. We had bad weather in Barcelona, so I didn’t experience much light!;) Amsterdam has magical light too, but not around these days. Im my opinion Amsterdam looks best in spring/ summer.. It changes the entire city! I hope you’re enjoying yourself here in Holland. I also hope the weather isn’t to bad!

      Cheers,

  2. Well, I just read your comments now! 🙂 I’m back in lisbon and back to wonderful temperatures and light! we had days with 16º/17º and sun, which is even warmer than usual! Regarding Amsterdam light you’re right, this was my second time, I had been there in June a few years ago and it was so different! This time I was there for a photo shoot, and it was quite challenging to say the very least!
